Took care of a family dinner of ours including a celiac toddler. Staff was helpful in explaining what they could do gluten free and the prices were very reasonable. Pretty wide menu that really anybody can get something they enjoy. Out of towners but would come back if we were in the area.
Was out for the day with a friend and we happened to find the Blu Star Grill on Google Maps. What a great find. Started with the fried green tomato appetizer. It’s fried perfectly and the aioli and goat cheese complemented it perfectly. I had the meatloaf and it was wonderful. The portions were large for a reasonable price. Then there is the free cookie- what a treat. The atmosphere was relaxing- it almost felt like a trip to grandmas. I’m sure to be back again and again. Oh and Patty our waitress was super.
I love this place! I’ve been here twice now and both times were very nice. The food is absolutely delicious. I got the gnocchi snapper tonight and it was phenomenal. The atmosphere is always great, with fresh flowers in a vase on the table. The free cookie with your meal is the cherry on top that makes this place a top notch restaurant in Mooresville.
Went with my boyfriend on a Thursday night at the end of January. I live and work in a fine dining in Asheville so my quality standard is very high, almost to a fault. They offer specials every night of the week and Thursday is a pairing of steak and a large crab cake with two sides and a lobster cream sauce for $29, which blew my mind. It was really good, the crab cake had a lot of crabmeat, not jumbo lump but seriously for $29 it was AMAZING. So much so that I suggested we go out the following Thursday, to celebrate our Valentine's early, and he got the special. I had to try something new so I got the blackened salmon with asiago stuffed gnocchi. I traded out the bed of rice for grilled veggies and got it medium rare. It was almost better than the special. Both times our waitresses were very fast, efficient, and enjoyable. As well as the food took a surprisingly short amount of time. The owner greeted us at the door and was very helpful our first time in. Will be going back.
My Significant other, a couple of in laws and I went to this place on a whim and were very glad we did. We were just visiting the area for a quick lake trip. The staff was very friendly, informative of the menu and history of the restaurant. We tried the scallops, and the crab & spinach fondue for starters. For our entrees we tried the Lobster and Steak, The Ravioli, and one of the occasional fresh catches (Corvina). Everything was very flavorful and not super salty like a lot of places. Every dish that was brought to the table was placed with intention and looked appetizing. We even got complimentary baked cookies! I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are trying to enjoy a peaceful, intimate setting with great service.
Went for lunch and got the fried brussels as an appetizer + the scallops/risotto special. Both were delicious! The atmosphere was very laid-back and my server Emily was very friendly!
Absolutely fantastic experience! We had the fried green tomatoes, lobster ravioli and shrimp, steak and lobster, key lime pie, and the peach bread pudding. It was delicious! The owner and his staff were attentive and so friendly! We are from Arizona and would travel back here just to enjoy another meal here!
Wonderful place to eat. The staff are very friendly. The owner is also very nice. We went there during valentine day and it was packed. We had a reservation but had to wait a bit, which was no problem at all. The owner took care of us. It was worth the wait. The food was delicious and very tasty. Great place to dine.
The food was top-notch and the menu is so varied. Many seafood dishes to choose from plus steak, salads, burgers, handhelds, and more. The fried green tomatoes were fantastic, as was the snapper with mango salsa. Service was on point and prices reasonable. We’ll go out of our way to dine here again.
